Assistant Plant Controller Job in Lexington, Kentucky For Sale

Armstrong Floor Products (AFP), a division of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Plant Assistant Controller to be located at our engineered hardwood flooring plant in Somerset, KY. In this role, the Plant Assistant Controller will be responsible for a variety of accounting & finance assignments, partnering with the plant controller and site management team to successfully manage the manufacturing operations and meet financial objectives. The Plant Assistant Controller must adhere to our guiding principles of integrity, commitment, and excellence.  Key Responsibilities of the Plant Assistant Controller:Month-end closing responsibilities, including reporting and analyzing variances to budget and forecast for the plant controller and management teamAccount analysis and reconciliationPreparing plant reports on production and key performance indicatorsAssisting with the development of monthly forecasts based on production drivers and key performance metrics at the facilitySupporting the weekly estimate process through analyzing metrics and developing projections of on-going performanceInventory control and reconciliation, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to cycle count procedures and assisting with the annual physical inventoryFixed asset control and reconciliationPreparing economic cost studies for projects concerning new or existing products, manufacturing processes, equipment, or facilitiesAssisting with the annual review and audit of internal control proceduresAssisting with developing the annual plant budgetAssisting with plant internal and external financial and operational audits and address any audit findings with the plant controller; participating in compliance certifications and reconciliations as requiredSupporting the plant in generating and quantifying cost savings opportunities, and supporting the plant management team with the implementation of cost reduction initiativesResponding quickly and accurately to customer requestsServing as back-up for others on the plant finance and accounting team Required Qualifications for the Plant Assistant Controller:Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field3+ years of Accounting or Finance experience in a manufacturing or public accounting environmentExperience in standard costing, cost accounting, inventory control, monthly closing and reportingDemonstrated ability to link and analyze plant operational metrics to financial performanceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsCapable of working independently and managing multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communications with the ability to share knowledge at appropriate levels of the organizationCustomer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional mannerStrong interpersonal and team-building skillsProven operational leadership skills in implementing and supporting new ideasAdvanced Microsoft Office skills Desired Qualifications for the Plant Assistant Controller:CMA, CPA or other professional certificationExperience with SAP, JD Edwards or similar ERP systemBenefits offered by Armstrong World Industries:Armstrong offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, prescription drugs, life insurance, long term disability coverage, vacation and product discount programs.About Armstrong World Industries:Established in xxxx, Armstrong World Industries, Inc. is a multi-billion dollar global leader in the design and manufacture of floors and ceilings with a focus on innovation, design, and environmental sustainability.
