My name is David Williams and I have been playing guitar since the age of 11, professionally since I was 18. I am now 48, and still active in the Dallas music scene. I have played in numerous bands, in several states, including Los Angeles CA, and Seattle WA, during the 80’s, and 90’s. I have composed original music for over 2 decades now and worked hand in hand with higher-ups in the music biz, composing jingles, assisting with arrangements and production.
My passion, along with performing, is teaching. I specialize in beginning guitar and developing good habits early on. Currently, I have a number of young students right now, and am in the position to take in a few more. Students ages 12 and up are welcomed! Right now these are 1 hour, one on one sessions for a flat $40! I also as an option, offer online lessons using a webcam and the free messaging service Skype for the video calls. This is a great way to learn while in the comfort of your own home!
The criteria is structured where a series of books is used and fundamentals are stressed. He or she will learn to read music, learn the chromatic scale, learn basic chords, and learn to apply technique that is taught. This is all done at the students pace. Advancement will depend on how much the student practices. He or she must have their own guitar, electric or acoustic.
