In xxxx, our agency created a program designed to bring children with autism home to a community rather than remain in institutions. This takes a commitment from not only our foster parents but the therapeutic staff who are working with the children every day-making a big difference! You could be part of this amazing team while getting valuable experience!
You would be working with staff providing one-on-one support, guided by a plan developed by a Behavioral Analyst and other professionals. You would be assisting a child with increasing their independent living skills and supporting the foster carer or who has the day to day responsibility to care for them or you may be working in a specialized group home setting (maximum 2 children) where you would work with another staff. While the child is in school, shifts are afternoon/evenings/nightshift/weekends. Morning and afternoon shifts are needed on the weekends and when school is out. In addition to completing a background check, the applicant must be available for 50+ hours of (paid) training prior to beginning work.
